Local Bristol charity Young Bristol, will be delivering free Holiday Clubs during the daytime throughout the summer holidays, thanks to funding from Bristol City Council’s Your Holiday Hub programme.
One of Bristol’s leading youth charities, Young Bristol, is providing critical out-of-school opportunities for children and young people in communities across the city. The charity offers community-based youth services through its community youth club network, and is a valued provider of outdoor activities, mobile youth services, creative arts, outdoor employment, and informal educational programmes for young people.
Young Bristol’s Holiday Clubs based at the charities Community Youth Club in Bristol, will support young people ages 8 – 12 years old during the school holidays, with a focus on those who receive free school meals. The free programmes will include activities, a free prepared meal and drink, and the opportunity for young people to socialise and have fun with their friends.
The Holiday Club programme will launch on Thursday 22 July, with sessions taking place up to Friday 3 September.
The popular Holiday Clubs have already seen over 600 attendances to their Easter and May Half Term programmes earlier this, and have hugely supported the communities they are based in. A parent from BS14 Youth Club said, “My son has been at all of the Holiday Clubs so I can work – the kids have such fun!”
You can find Young Bristol’s Holiday Clubs at Avon Youth Club (in Lawrence Weston), Ashton Vale Club for Young People, BS14 Youth Club (in Stockwood), Sea Mills Boys’ and Girls Club, The Grove @ Bedminster Down and on our Youth Club on Wheels (in Henbury & Brentry). Not only is Young Bristol providing Holiday Clubs this summer, but the charity is also continuing to deliver a host of opportunities for children and young people throughout the city. From the charities Outdoor Employment Programme accepting new trainees to its Youth Club on Wheels based in communities in BANES, North Somerset and Bristol, Outdoor Activity sessions on Bristol Harbourside, and creative and sports activities at their Community Youth Club.
