Raised in Bristol is set to open a new nursery in Southmead at the beginning of July. Raised in Southmead will be based in the Greenway Centre and offers a 63 place nursery providing childcare and early years education for children aged six months to five years old.
Raised in Southmead will be joining a network of nurseries in Bristol comprising Raised in Easton, Raised in Felix Road and Raised in St Pauls.
“Raised in Bristol is a social enterprise dedicated to providing first-rate child care,” explained Charlotte Akers, the brand manager for Raised in Bristol. “With no shareholders, we are free to plough our profits back where they’re needed.
“We run children’s nurseries in public buildings, paying market rent to the landlord, providing a service for local working families and the youngest members of communities. Then when the nursery makes a profit, we give all of it back to the community it came from – and everyone benefits, not just the families who use the nursery.
“It’s our vision that all children growing up in Bristol feel proud of their own neighbourhoods, build a stronger connection with their community and are able to access everything that the whole city offers.
“We offer play-led learning in a space that prioritises a nurturing environment with a focus on nature and nutrition as your children take their first steps towards school. Our mission is to deliver the highest quality early years education and childcare, underpinned by current research in the sector. We aim to give each child a personalised curriculum based on the key principles arising from Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) guidance.”
