Clifton College has been awarded the 360 degree safe Online Safety Mark by SWGfL through formal assessment of our online safety provision.
Clifton College is currently the only school in Bristol with this accreditation, and it demonstrates the college’s commitment to good policy and procedures in online safety.
Joanna Evans, the Online Safety Lead at Clifton College, explained, “The Online Safety Mark is a nationally recognised qualification which acknowledges and celebrates the quality of the college’s online safety provision. In order to apply for the award, the school has to complete the SWGfL 360Safe tool, a free and excellent resource that enables schools to review their online safety provision, benchmark it against good practice and other schools/academies, produce action plans and access good practice resources.
“This is a long process, especially for a college of Clifton’s size, and took about 12 months of work to complete the review fully and meet or surpass the required benchmarks. We then had an assessor attend Clifton College who met with a range of staff, pupils, parents, SLT and a member of our governing body and carried out an assessment of the completed review.
“We were then awarded the Online Safety Mark. This is a prestigious award that highlights the college’s clear and consistent approach to Online safety. We will be provided with a wall plaque in due course and will proudly be displaying our accreditation on our website. Additionally, we are currently the only school in the Bristol area with this award.
“To achieve the 360Safe Online Safety Mark is an exceptional achievement and I could not be happier with the work that has been done across the college. We are very proud to have received this award which highlights the high importance we place on online safety at Clifton College for our pupils as well as our staff, families and wider community.”
