Aerospace Bristol has partnered with the appropriately-named Concord Church to host an evening of Community Christmas Carols under Concorde on Saturday 17th December
The event will begin outdoors, between the museum’s historic hangars, at 4pm, before carollers move inside to sing alongside the last Concorde ever to fly. The museum café will be open throughout, serving festive treats including mince pies and mulled wine.
The community carols are free to attend, with the option to donate to Aerospace Bristol’s Engineering Futures Appeal. The appeal, which was launched in October to celebrate Aerospace Bristol’s fifth birthday, aims to raise £500,000 over the course of the next year, with funds supporting the museum’s school visits programme.
Sally Cordwell, CEO of Aerospace Bristol, said, “We are so pleased to be able to invite people to Aerospace Bristol to sing Carols with us this Christmas. I’m grateful to Concord Church for working with us on what I am sure will be a magical event.
“It’s been a tough year for lots of people so we wanted tickets to be free, but we are also hoping some people will donate if they can to support our Engineering Futures Appeal so that Aerospace Bristol can continue to deliver school visits and unique educational opportunities to inspire the next generation of engineering talent.”
Rev Andy Carter, Concord Church, added, “We are so excited to sing carols with the community at Aerospace Bristol this Christmas. Concord Church is a new church for the North of Bristol. Our heart is to serve our local communities in Brabazon and Charlton Hayes and to be a church for those who wouldn’t normally go to church.”
