The Bristol Old Vic theatre has announced an ambitious range of digital work running through to May 2021 to keep families entertained through the Spring and beyond, allowing stories to be shared and creativity to flourish in new ways once again.
The Spring Season for 2021 includes:
- Bristol Old Vic Favourites Box Set
The hugely successful online subscription season of five favourite shows from the last decade, seen by 25,000 people so far, extends until the end of April with extra live events announced for those who want to delve a little deeper into how the shows were made. With families in mind, these include Swallows and Amazons and The Night Autumn Turned to Winter which are shows especially for families and early years audiences, and are available for 48 hour rental for £4.50 until the end of April.

Bristol company Sharp Teeth continue to drive audiences into its trailblazing Zoom world of mystery with their latest case, Sherlock in Homes: Murder on Ice. Their first mystery has already reached over 4,000 people over lockdown and will continue to run alongside the new episode. Now on sale.

The Bristol Old Vic’s mighty Engagement has launched a series of free workshops under the banner Let’s… for anyone curious about entering the world of theatre-making, whatever their age or experience. This new series of Free Workshops on Zoom include taster sessions for young people who might want to try out the Young Company and see if it’s something for them. There are still a few places left on the Young Company taster sessions on the 6 and 20 March and we plan to do another series of workshops for young people which will be announced at the end of this month
Bristol Old Vic’s not just a theatre. With creative opportunities open to all, loads of learning materials and fun activities, there are all sorts of ways we can Interact.

Family Activities include Story Time: The Silver Coin, crafts, games and competitions.
The award-wining Young Company is also still running over lockdown with 18 sessions taking place weekly for over 250 young people aged from 5-21 – all online until we can get everyone back in the building again.
