IDLES, Portishead, Billy Nomates, Katy J Pearson, Heavy Lungs and Wilderman will play a one-off benefit gig to raise money for Ukraine at the 02 Academy Bristol on Bank Holiday Monday 2nd May.
War Child UK have joined forces with Crosstown Concerts and local Bristol business Friendly Records, to bring this fundraising concert for Ukraine to Bristol. 1,200 exclusive tickets will be available through a £10 prize draw at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/WarChildBristol, closing at midnight on 24th April.
The Help! concert will feature a uniquely Bristolian line-up, with all proceeds raised prior to and during the six-hour special event going to War Child UK, helping them to continue their work supporting refugees and children impacted by the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.
The £10 prize draw will see 600 pairs of lucky ticket holders attend the event, while everyone who enters the prize draw will have access to the event’s live stream on the day.
Following the launch of their 4th album, Crawler, last year, this will be IDLES only home-town show in 2022. They’ll be joined by another much-loved Bristol band Portishead who haven’t played live since 2015.
Also performing on the night will be Billy Nomates, Katy J Person and Heavy Lungs, whose lead vocalist, Danny Nedelko comes from Odessa in Ukraine. Willie J Healey, Wilderman and DJ Boca 45 will also play, with further acts being announced over the coming weeks.
“Hailing from Ukraine, this is a cause very close to my heart,” Heavy Lungs’ Danny said. “It’s incredibly special being a part of this show. We are going to bring our absolute best.”
Prize draw tickets can be bought online until midnight Sunday 24th April at www.ticketmaster.co.uk/warchildbristol
