Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils from Minerva Primary Academy joined Bristol Mayor Marvin Rees to plant trees in Hillfields park as part of National Trees Week.
While the children were there, they learnt about the seedling native trees which are being planted to create a woodland which will become home to lots of wildlife. They also planted some larger trees like a hazel tree and a Tibetan cherry tree.
Jenny Harvey, Principal of Minerva Primary Academy, said, “It was a fantastic community morning filled with lots of great teamwork. We can’t wait to see the trees grow.”
