Bristolians, and visitors to the city, are invited to immerse themselves inside a wonderful world of colour this summer, as ‘Luminarium’ comes to College Green from 4 to 14 August.
The world-famous inflatable domes will be flooded with natural light and colour, welcoming visitors inside a fully-accessible, multi-sensory, walk-in art experience. Created by Alan Parkinson, designer and founder of Architects of Air, the travelling art installation has been created for all ages and has been visited by over 3million people worldwide since its creation in 1992.
Free to enter, visitors will feel like they’ve stepped inside a kaleidoscopic world of colour as the sunlight powers a fully-immersive display inside Luminarium’s domes, tunnels and pods.
The size of half a football pitch, the Luminarium is fully wheelchair accessible and set across one level. Schools and organisations for children and adults with accessibility needs are being invited to join in the experience with quieter sessions available.
Open from 1pm to 7pm daily between August 4 and 14, tickets are free for all and can be booked in advance online at the Bristol Light Festival website. Walk-ups are also available.
