News, events and schools' information for families across Bristol

Families are invited to Bristol Museum over the weekend of 28 & 29 January to witness the Lion Dance as part of the venue’s celebration of the Chinese Year of the Rabbit.

Activities over the weekend will include live performances and activities by the museum’s amazing community partners, allowing visitors to see the return of the exciting and colourful lion dance, catch vibrant song and dance performances, marvel at the martial arts demonstrations and learn about Chinese and Korean culture.

Look out for the roving pandas!

There are also plenty of craft and traditional activities, and look out for our roving pandas! You can also buy beautiful Chinese goods for sale in the shop.

During the celebrations, pick up one of the rabbit detective trails to search for rabbits throughout the museum.

Each day runs from 10.30am-4.30pm, with no booking required. Entrance is free, although donations are welcome.

Please be aware that the annual Lunar New Year celebrations are popular and you may experience a queue for entry into the museum.
