St Werburgh’s Primary School was delighted by the outcomes of a recent Ofsted inspection, with the report judging the school to have ‘Outstanding Behaviour and Attitudes, ‘Outstanding’ Personal Development and ‘Good’ Teaching and Learning and Leadership and Management.

The inspectors commented on how the school is ambitious for all and that diversity is celebrated. Pupils are tolerant and accept everyone’s uniqueness and behaviour is excellent.

Parents and carers were overwhelmingly positive about the education and the opportunities the school provides, commenting that, ‘The school goes beyond teaching the bare bones of the curriculum and helps my child thrive as an individual and grow important skills for life.’

The inspection noted that pupils’ personal development is a high priority within the school’s curriculum and beyond. Inspectors praised the school for providing ‘a wealth of wider enrichment opportunities identified through the ‘Passport of Experience’’.

Helen Faulkner, St Werburgh’s Primary School Headteacher, said, “We are proud to have had such a positive report. It accurately reflects the positive place that St Werburgh’s Primary is. It is a testament to the hard work of the staff team, and of course, our brilliant children.”

Jack Lacey, Cathedral Schools Trust’s Deputy CEO, added, “This is a wonderful report which rightly recognises what a happy, ambitious and inclusive school St Werburgh’s is.”
