News, events and schools' information for families across Bristol

Clifton College welcomed 17 local prep and primary schools to take part in its annual Year 6 Primary Team Maths Challenge.

The competition provided the opportunity for the teams to challenge their mathematical ability against like-minded individuals.

The overall winners of the day were Bishop Road Primary School, with Clifton High Junior School and Beaudesert Park School finishing in second and third place respectively.

“I love running these events!” said Mr Allen, Mathematics Teacher at Clifton College. “It allows me to see children from all over Bristol and the surrounding areas come together to ‘geek out’ over maths for the day.

“These children love to learn maths, but usually only in the safe environment of their classroom. This type of event pushes them out of their comfort zone and allows them to test their ability against like-minded individuals in a fun and engaging way.”
