News, events and schools' information for families across Bristol

Bristol is set to be invaded by a host of Halloween events this spooky season. With every corner of the city getting in the spine-tingling spirit, from family-friendly events to clubnights and surreal experiences at Boomtown’s Wake The Tiger, Bristol really does have it all this Halloween.

Wake The Tiger
  • Dance to the death on the Friday before All Hallows Eve (28th October) at Wake The Tiger‘s Halloween event like no other, Danse Macabre. For one night, shadow walkers, sky queens, junk lords and born survivors will experience the fantastical world of Meridia slip away into shadow and dust, and the dance of death will begin. From 6:30pm-1am, visitors can expect pop-up performers, games and high energy live bands and DJs to transcend them into darkness, set against the immersive backdrop of Meridia. Bristol’s Bump In The Night lantern carnival
  • Illuminated giant puppets will be parading through Bristol city centre, from Broadmead to King Street in Bristol’s Bump In The Night spooktacular lantern carnival on Sunday 30th October. Organised by Lamp Lighter Arts and with support from Bristol City Centre BID, family-friendly craft workshops will bring the spooky puppets to life. From ghost ships to giant spiders, the puppets will tell tales from Bristol’s history at the parade, as well as costumes and Halloween headdresses. Choose your Halloween team by joining a lantern-making workshop here.
Perfect for little monsters!
  • Children can take part in a spooky twist on the classic trick or treat trail with Bedminster BID’s Halloween Trail, launching on 15th October. Keep your eyes peeled for little monsters lurking in Bedminster’s shop windows, and collect a sticker from each one – take a snap of your completed map and you will be entered into a £100 prize giveaway! To get started, pick up a map from one of the participating stores (marked with spooky window stickers) from 15th October, and get monster-hunting!
