News, events and schools' information for families across Bristol

Reception pupils from Christ Church Primary School in Clifton recently enjoyed a week of firsts, starting with a trip to see Reg The Veg, the popular greengrocers, to find out about the produce for sale and where it had come from. During the visit, the children chose their own pumpkins to take back to school for scooping and potion making.

Later in the week the pupils had their first trip to Christ Church for a whole school harvest festival, with the children performing songs and their own scarecrow poem.

“The children were amazing and a credit to the school, we are so proud of you,” said reception teacher, Vikki Richardson. “We took both reception classes to learn about vegetables that are grown locally, then bought pumpkins, beans and potatoes. We love being able to use our local community to bring learning to life for the children as often as we can. Thank you to all the lovely parents who kindly came to help us.”
